Bible Storying for Muslim audiences

We have taken this story from the Moody Bible Stories

You can also see the clip from which it was taken at the bottom of this article. Today's story takes place in 1 Samuel 3.

There once was a man named Ramathaim and his wife Hannah. They loved the Lord but Hannah could not have any children.
Often other women would mock her.
Hannah prayed that if the Lord gave her a child, she would give him to the Lord to serve him.
The Lord gave them a boy, Samuel.
So they brought the boy to Eli the priest.
He served the priest.
The Lord later blessed Hannah with many other children.
Meanwhile, Samuel grew and learned more of the Lord.
He began to even teach people that which was written.
One day, as he went to sleep... He heard a voice "Samuel"
He got up and ran to Eli and said "Yes here I am."

I didn't call you go back to sleep.

Again the voice came "Samuel..."
Yes, do you need anything?

Go back to sleep.

Just as before the voice came. "Samuel."
This time Eli, realized it was the voice of the Lord.

"Therefore Eli said to Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call you, that you shall say, Speak, Lord; for your servant hears."

So this time, he went back to his bed. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel said, Speak; for your servant hears
Samuel grew and the Lord was with him. Everyone knew that he was now a prophet of God.
Discussion questions

Was it enough that Samuel knew about God? God wanted Samuel to know him, not just know about him.

How can we know God?

Turkmania

I have just completed work on this book that details how I began to work among the Turkmen.

The Turkmen are a minority group that are found throughout the Middle East. This book combines both instruction and also personal stories of my time with them.

Although, you might not be dealing with the Turkmen, the lessons in this book can help you wherever you find yourself serving.
